Year 7 students were fortunate to participate in a vital workshop on the topic of their changing and developing bodies, led by a representative from , an organisation dedicated to educating young people about puberty, relationships, and well-being. The session aimed to provide students with accurate information, build confidence, and create a supportive environment where they could ask important questions.

The students attended an initial session as a year group, where boys and girls learned together in an interactive and engaging presentation. This inclusive approach encouraged the entire cohort to understand the changes that both genders experience during puberty, fostering empathy and shared knowledge. The representative from It Happens delivered the material in a relatable way, inviting students to submit questions ahead of time, while also encouraging further discussion throughout the session.

After a short break, the group was divided by gender for more in-depth conversations. This separation allowed the boys and girls to ask more specific questions in a smaller, more comfortable setting, leading to even deeper engagement. Both groups embraced this opportunity, and the It Happens representative was highly complimentary of their participation, stating that these were some of the most engaged and discursive groups she had ever worked with.

The students showed real curiosity and thoughtfulness, especially when addressing some of the more challenging aspects of growing up.
